Fragonard is a perfume house founded in Grasse (in the French Riviera), in 1926. Its tradition combines the knowledge of the best Provençal perfumery with modern avant-garde, to create iconic, yet essential fragrances. All Fragonard perfumes are inspired by the delicacy and decorum typical of the southern French coast, for centuries an emblem of the most refined elegance, to the point of being universally recognized as the seat of taste of the French courts. The fame of Fragonard perfumes initially spread thanks to word of mouth carried out by the numerous tourists from all over Europe, who, already in the early years of the 20th century, began to circulate the name of the house, weaving its highest praises. Many travelers, in fact, decided to take with them a delicate Eau de Toilette or a more intense Eau de Parfum Fragonard as a souvenir of their dream trip to the warm French Riviera, to be able to evoke at any moment the delicious smells of a magnificent journey. And it is in the midst of this aura of enchantment that the Parfumerie Fragonard defined its contours. But where does the Fragonard perfumery get its name from? The maison owes its name to the famous painter from Grasse Jean-Honoré Fragonard (1732-1806), author of the famous painting "The Swing": it is to him that Eugène Fuchs, founder of the maison, decided to pay homage. Upon his arrival in Grasse, in fact, Eugène Fuchs was astonished both by the welcome that the city had reserved for him and by the refinement of the artistic heritage (dating back to the 18th century) preserved in that place. The solid foundations on which he founded the Fragonard brand are the same that, after a hundred years, allow its perfumes and products to stand out still today, thanks to an excellent combination of originality and tradition.
