Le Jardin Retrouvé is a timeless niche perfumery brand founded in 1975 by Yuri Gutsatz, the first master perfumer to reject the constraints of traditional perfumery and establish his own maison. Yuri left his family a precious legacy composed of thousands of lab samples and a multitude of pages of notes and poetry about perfumes and his native Russia, all carefully preserved by his wife, Arlette.
Art seems to flow in the veins of the Le Jardin Retrouvé family. If initially there was Yuri, a poet and master perfumer, alongside his wife Arlette, an extraordinary designer and creator of the brand's first logo, today we have Clara, the brand's creative director and a great international artist. It is she who came up with the idea of assigning each Le Jardin Retrouvé perfume its own garden with a unique aesthetic and enchanting story, entirely invented by her. In 2016, Clara and Michel Gutsatz (Yuri's descendant) decided to reinvent Le Jardin Retrouvé, adding an eco-responsible approach to the wonder of Yuri's original perfumes from the artistic perfumery. This was done without compromising the delicacy of the historical fragrances. To achieve this, they brought perfumer Maxence Moutte into the Le Jardin Retrouvé team, who was able to recreate Yuri's formulas as closely as possible. His first creation was the perfume Mousse Arashiyama, followed by Osmanthe Liu Yuan, a fragrance for both men and women, currently among the most loved and requested Le Jardin Retrouvé perfumes.
Another aspect to which the French perfumery Maison pays great attention is the maturation time of the ingredients, ensuring the harmonious balance of each perfume. Ingredients are weighed according to the original formula of the perfumer and mixed in an aluminum vessel, where they mature for up to three weeks. As if all this were not enough, the Le Jardin Retrouvé family won the Victoires de la Beauté 2021/2022 in the Clean category for the entire range of perfumes!
